Jonathan de Ceuster

Countertenor

Countertenor Jonathan De Ceuster studied singing at the Brussels Conservatory where he obtained a premier prix in opera-singing, concert-singing, chamber music and a diplôme supérieur in opera-singing. He specialised in baroque singing at the Conservatoire de Metz (FR). Jonathan continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Music (UK) where he obtained a Postgraduate Performance Degree and a DipRam for his outstanding final recital. He had the chance to work with James Bowman, Michael Chance, Paul Esswood, Laurence Cummings and Richard Egarr. Finally he obtained a Masters Degree at the Royal Conservatoire in Antwerp. Jonathan works with several early music ensembles such as the Netherlands Bach Society, Akadêmia, Ex Tempore, Currende, La Petite Bande, Collegium Vocale Gent and Amsterdam Baroque choir. Jonathan is also very active on the opera and music theatre platform and has performed both baroque as contemporary operas at the opera houses of Antwerp, Ghent, Düsseldorf, Strasbourg, Geneva and numerous theatre houses all over Europe.
